5.0 out of 5 stars

If I could give 10 stars here I would. I was in a rear end collision in Franklin last year with my brand new truck I had built 30 days prior. My entire life went through a blender because of this, and unfortunately the attorney I originally hired to represent me, did not follow through--they made a lackadaisical mistake that cost me my case. I was at a complete loss and I now needed to find a malpractice attorney to just "handle" this for me. I interviewed several attorneys, all over TN, and the few that were willing to take my case, didn't really earn my trust enough to hire them-they were wishy washy and I didn't have time or patience for that. I spoke with Sam about the situation and within minutes, he gave me the confidence that he was going to just grab the bull by the horns and make this right--and that's just what he did, and then some. I get to walk away feeling like this was a complete wash and start my life over. I can't thank you enough Sam. I hope to never be in this situation again, but if I ever am, you're my forever attorney and I'll be referring everyone to you!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
